Description
The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon (20,000 cases) is produced from vineyards in Rutherford, Oakville, and Yountville. About 30% new American and French oak barrels are used in the wine’s upbringing, so as not to dominate the sweet black currant fruit. Low in acidity, with gorgeous ripeness, a dense purple color, and a spicy, full-bodied, concentrated personality, it is one of the finest, most precocious/accessible Cabernet Sauvignons Joseph Phelps has recently produced. Anticipated maturity: now Rated 89
