Description
The brilliant 2000 Fougas-Maldoror has a dense ruby/purple color and a nose of hot chocolate intermixed with black cherry jam, plums, and figs. The wine is dense, chewy, fat, and totally delicious. Some tannin in the finish is nearly obscured by relatively high levels of glycerin. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. A sleeper of the vintage.Robert Parker 89 Score: 88 Price: $50 Country: France Region: Bordeaux Issue: Web Only – 2008 An interesting coffee and cigar note coats the black cherry and berry. Medium- to full-bodied, turning a bit chewy on the finish, but there’s a good concentration of fruit and mineral. Needs time. Best Now. 3,750 cases made. JS Drink Now Great Wine
